Soldier Energy Systems is an Indigenous-owned Manitoba energy infrastructure company deploying vertical axis wind turbines for northern and remote communities, critical infrastructure, transportation corridors, defence applications and industrial sites across Canada.

We integrate wind generation with solar power, battery storage, thermal storage and system controls to provide reliable local energy where the electrical grid does not reach or cannot be relied upon.

Proven in North American conditions

Vertical axis wind turbines, commonly known as VAWTs or vertical wind turbines, can generate power from wind arriving from any direction.

The Canadian-designed vertical axis wind turbine used in Soldier Energy systems has been field-tested in North America for 15 years, with more than one million operating hours across the installed fleet. It is rated for operation down to −43°C and uses a straightforward, serviceable design with its generating equipment located at ground level.

The 6.25 kW turbine accepts wind from any direction without turning to face it. Soldier can deploy individual turbines or combine multiple units as part of a larger hybrid energy system.
